Job Management
The automation of routine tasks is key to managing the distributed enterprise.
The time of IT staff is too valuable to be spent performing tasks such as
routine data backup, managing temporary file space, or monitoring login failures.

Desktop Management
In large networks or physically distributed smaller ones management of the
users workstations present considerable challenges. Ensuring that users receive
the latest versions and updates to the software required for their work requires
tools that can determine the configuration of the users machines and install
the appropriate software. However installation of software must not tie up
valuable resources such as network bandwidth when it is needed for the normal
work of the enterprise. When physical access to machines is either difficult
or impossible system administrators still need be able to resolve issues
on those remote machines.
